Indian Border Security Force (BSF) gunned down two Bangladeshi farmers at Dharmagar village in Ranishankail upazila under Thakurgaon district yesterday morning.
The victims were identified as Md Azmal Hossain, son of Kabir Hossain of village Chikni in Ranishankail upazila and Abu Taher 20, son of Rais Uddin of village Chakmapara in the same upazila.
The Indian border guards opened fire on the victims when they were working on a cropland near a border pillar at around 6:30am, said Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) and locals.
After the incident, the BSF dragged the bodies into the Indian territory.
Confirming the incident, Lt Col Rafique of BDR said they sent a protest letter to BSF demanding return of the bodies.
