Download PDF An informant of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and police, whose tip-off led to the arrest of JMB Second-in-Command Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai, was slaughtered by unidentified assailants at village Binnakuri in Muktagachha upazila on Thursday night.
Police and locals said the informer, Anwar Hossain, son of Yead Ali of the village, came under attack while he was returning home from his medicine shop at Binnakuri Bazar at around 10:30pm.
On information, police and a team of Rab-9 went to the spot yesterday morning, recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) morgue for autopsy.
Police arrested a man suspecting his involvement in the killing. When contacted, duty officer of Muktagachha Police Station said the law enforcers have launched a drive in the area to arrest the persons responsible for the murder.
Anwar’s wife filed a case with Muktagachha Police Station.
