Advisers to the nonparty caretaker government yesterday placed wreaths at National Memorial at Savar, paying homage to the martyrs of the country’s Liberation War.
After paying homage, the advisers reiterated their pledge to do whatever necessary to ensure a free and fair election in the country.
Adviser Tapan Chowdhury told reporters that the general election would be held after fulfilling all preconditions for holding an election in a free and fair manner.
Adviser Anwarul Iqbal stressed the need for improving the law and order for a clean and credible election. “We’ll do everything to maintain the law and order situation,” he said.
