A Dhaka court today issued arrest warrants against Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina and two of her party men in the October 28 Paltan killing case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Mir Ali Reza issued the warrants after accepting a chargesheet against the AL chief and 45 others.
The other two against whom warrants have been issued are former home minister Mohammad Nasim and AL activist Kiron alias Abdul Malek. They have been shown absconding in the chargesheet though Nasim is in jail custody.
Jamaat-e-Islami filed the case with Paltan Police Station, accusing a host of AL-led combine leaders of masterminding murders soon after the Paltan incident which claimed seven lives on October 28 last year.
Though the complainant did not mention Hasina in the FIR, investigation officer of the case pressed charges against her along with 45 others on April 11.
Apart from Hasina, Nasim and Kiron, all the accused in the case are now on anticipatory bail secured through the High Court earlier.
