Law Adviser Barrister Mainul Hosein yesterday said leaders of the two major parties (AL and BNP) had encouraged sending their two top leaders abroad to help reform their parties.
The adviser told a private television channel that the government does not bother whether the two leaders stay in the country or outside. “Instead, leaders of the two parties stated if the two leaders stay abroad, it will be easier for them to reform their parties,” he said.
Reacting to the Adviser’s remarks, BNP spokesman Nazrul Islam Khan said no leaders in the BNP would like to see reform keeping Khaleda abroad.
Awami League presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim said Awami League leaders and workers cannot think of any reforms without Sheikh Hasina. He said the advisor did not clearly say who made such suggestions.
