The Supreme Court (SC) today issued a three-point order to the government to fully implement the process of separating the judiciary from the executive control.
The three directives include recruitment of judges and officials after selecting new courts, providing different related privileges including rule to the judges and allocation of required funds to implement those jobs.
The seven-member full bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Mohammad Ruhul Amin passed the order and asked the government to submit those before it through affidavit within July 19.
At the same time, the court also accepted four rules relating to independent judiciary and amended Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) ordinance prepared by the incumbent caretaker government in compliance with its directives.
The court also adjourned till July 23 the hearing of the contempt of court case against 13 bureaucrats, including four top secretaries. Of them, some faced contempt charges for distorting the court directives while some other for not implementing SC directives and impeding the implementation process of the judiciary separation.
