Download PDF BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia said she will nominate a leader of her own choice to run the party in her absence and everybody should work under that new leadership.
Asked who will take over the post of the party chairperson if she is arrested, Khaleda said during a teleconference on Thursday night, “Someone will take the responsibility and everyone has to work under his/her leadership.
“They [government] can arrest me if they want, but you should not lose confidence,” she said while talking to leaders and workers of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) unit of Jahangirnagar University at a room of Maolana Bhashani Hall.
Urging the JCD leaders and workers to work together to face any situation, she asked the JCD leaders to keep close contact with party leaders and workers so that they can follow the party programme after the withdrawal of the ban on indoor politics.
During another teleconference with party leaders in three northern districts yesterday, Khaleda asked all party men to remain united so that no misunderstanding or confusion is created within the party.
Our correspondent in Rajshahi reports: Brig Gen (retd) Hannan Shah, political adviser to Khaleda, who was visiting Rajshahi, Naogaon and Bogra, told reporters that the BNP chief sent him with a message for all party men. “She asked all to remain united so that no misunderstanding or confusion is created among ourselves,” said Hannan.
“Stay united and pray to the Almighty Allah for the people of the country and the party so that we can work together again,” Khaleda said during a brief teleconference with local party leaders at the house of former city BNP general secretary Advocate Enamul Haque.
Hannan Shah said his visit was not political. “I have come to Rajshahi to visit the shrine of Shah Mukhdum (Ra) as I visited the shrines of Shah Jalal (Ra) and Shah Paran (Ra) after I was released from jail.”
Criticising the present government’s anti-corruption actions, he said, “I have support for anti-corruption moves of any government, but I do not hold up the idea of harassing or undermining someone falsely labelling them as corrupt.”
Hannan said, “Those who are hatching conspiracy against the party and those who will be punished by the court will face action in the party council after the ban on politics is lifted.”
Hannan went to Rajshahi in the morning and visited the shrine of Shah Mukhdum (Ra) and offered Juma prayers.
He went to Naogaon in the afternoon and held a meeting with local party men. He then went to Bogra after visiting the graveyard of former BNP lawmaker Shamsuddin in Naogaon.
BNP leaders and workers from Chapainawabganj, Naogaon and other surrounding districts accompanied Hannan during his visit to the northern districts.

We cannot accuse anyone nor seek pleasure seeing others peril. May ALLAH the Alimghty guide us all towards truth. We have to be equally truthful &
be just to Muslims & Non Muslims as advised by our beloved Prophet(M.M.S.A)and ordered by ALLAH the ALMIGHTY. Just is just & unjust is Unjust.
Many lands of poor people devoured by might in Bangladesh, unless these are returned to the rightful owners, unless poverty stricken Beharies are free from calamities, ALLAH will keep His punishment alive. Flood is a warning, so let us do the rightful Act.Be just to all irrespective of language,colour & creed.
We have to consider our livings as though we are
standing on the day of Arafath, where We can not abuse even satan, abuse any idol, abuse any human being and even cannot kill a fly .Stand at clean heart!
