Download PDF 75 more bodies were recovered in Pirojpur today, raising death toll in the district from Thursday’s cyclonic storm to 127.
Local control room sources said the bodies were recovered from different parts in the district till this noon.
Earlier, till last night, 52 bodies were recovered in the district.
56 people were killed in Bhandaria upazila, 30 in Mathbaria, 18 in Nazirpur, 11 in Zianagar, 4 each in Nasirabad, Kawkhali and Sadar uapzilas.
The sources fear that death toll could rise further as many people still remain missing.
Besides, power supply remained cut off till this noon as the cyclone uprooted many electric poles. Water supply in the town also remained disrupted due to power outage.
