Land depression weakens into low-pressure area

The land depression over southern and central part of Bangladesh moved towards the north-east and weakened into a low-pressure area at about 6:00am today.

A latest meteorological office bulletin said the low pressure was lying over Assam and Tripura of India and adjoining north-eastern part of Bangladesh.

Squally weather is unlikely over the maritime ports, it said.

Meanwhile, maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Mongla have been advised to lower cautionary signal.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the north Bay have been advised to keep close to the coast and proceed with caution till 6:00pm today.
