BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and her sons Tarique Rahman and Arafat Rahman Koko were released on parole yesterday to have last glimpse of the detained former premier’s mother who died Friday night.

Khaleda got two hours to spend beside the body of her mother Taiyeba Majumder while Tarique and Koko about an hour at their cantonment residence.

Khaleda and her sons, however, could not meet each other as the jail authorities had their release staggered.

Tarique, also senior joint secretary general of BNP, and his younger brother were not allowed to attend the namaz-e-janaza held at Gulshan’s Azad Masque last night.

Sombre faces of the relatives greeted Khaleda, Tarique and Koko at their Shaheed Moinul Road residence that had the three for the first time since their arrest. Khaleda and Koko were arrested on September 3 while Tarique on March 7 last year on corruption charges.

Meanwhile, a number of BNP leaders including Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain and acting office secretary Rizvi Ahmed wanted to pay respect to late Taiyeba and meet the chairperson, but the authorities did not allow them.

Family sources said Khaleda, Tarique and Koko–all broke into tears seeing Taiyeba, who would be buried today at Faridpur graveyard in Dinajpur town. The body will be kept at CMH before being flown back to Dinajpur this morning.

Koko, who looked sick, frequently enquired about his mother and brother. He spent about an hour with his grieving family members and relatives.

Later, the jail authorities sent him back to the prison cell at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University at around 5:45pm.

The van carrying Tarique arrived minutes after the one carrying Koko had left the cantonment. Wearing a white punjabi, he was in the house for over an hour. Before being taken back to the Dhaka Central Jail at around 7:20pm, he attended a janaza there.

The jail authorities brought Koko to Cantonment Police Station at around 1:50pm and kept him there till 4:40pm.

Tarique too was not directly taken to cantonment. He was first brought to Shahbagh Police Station from the Central Jail.

Khaleda Zia was released from the sub-jail on Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises at 7:23pm. Amid tight security, the motorcade carrying the BNP chief used the Old Airport Road to avoid newsmen who massed in front the Shaheed Jahangir Gate.

Sayeed Eskandar and Shamim Eskandar received their sister Khaleda at her residence where she stayed for about two hours.

An air of gloom settled over with Khaleda entering the house at 7:30pm. Her eyes brimmed with tears as she met the family members and relatives including her grand children and in-laws.

IGP (prisons) Brig Gen Zakir Hasan told The Daily Star at 10:20pm that the BNP chairperson was brought back to the subjail at around 10:00pm.

Earlier in the day, the body of Taiyeba Majumder was flown in to Dhaka from Dinajpur in an air force helicopter. It was taken to Moinul Road by an ambulance from Kurmitola.

The helicopter carrying the body left Dinajpur for the capital at about 2:40pm. Shamim Iskandar, younger son of Taiyeba, accompanied the body.

Taiyeba Majumder died of cardiac arrest at Zia Heart Foundation and Research Centre in Dinajpur at 8:45pm Friday. She was 87.

    Dr.B.Ahmed PHD Says:

The world is a temorary station for all.
We all are here sent by ALMIGHTY ALLAH SWT to
prepare for the test of after life:The glorious & eternal life. But we are whipped by satan
to all kinds of immoral & impious activities.
We must remember that All Prophets & All holy
people & those are martyred donot die.Earth does not consume the bodies of these people.
These people live with their intact body & will wakeupin the day of judgement.
Tell you a true story: Saint Barnabas , a close
associate of Hazrat Isa (AS) was martyred because
He had given true description of Hazrat Isa & that
Prophet Mohammed is the Last Prophet of ALLAH!
Jews high priests burnt all his Books & got him
martyred. He was engraved in Cyprus in probably in 60AD.After several hundred years,Before the advent of Islam, A holy person saw in dream that Saint Barnabas was calling him & pointing him to his grave to unearth. The holy person unearthed his grave and found his body was intact as though he was sleeping,a book lied on his chest “The Gospel of Barnabas” Muslims only came to know about this gospel about hundred years ago.
The Book truly stated that HOLY Isa was taken away bodily & his enemy Judas was turned in to the apperence of ISA (AS) who was truly crucified.
Co relates with HOLY QURAN.Ahmedies must note this. So Holy people never consumed by earth.
Lastly I Pray for the forgiveness of the soul of
the mother of Khaleda zia ,she died in the holy month of Mohram.
    Thank you.
