The three-day Bishwa Ijtema that began on the bank of River Turag at Tongi today concluded on the first day due to inclement weather that left three devotees killed.
A Rab official said organisers of the Ijteam, the second largest Muslim congregation after hajj, decided to cut short the programme considering the sweeping cold and drizzles.
After the decision to roll back the congregation, the Akheri Munajat (concluding prayers), which is usually held on the third day of the Ijtema, was held at about 8:15pm today.
Imam Hafez Jobayerul Hasan of India led the Akheri Munajat.
