Download PDF Pallabi police yesterday registered a case following Thursday’s court order against Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami, Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojahid and eight others as they were accused of massacre during the Liberation War.
Amir Hossain Mullah, a war-wounded freedom fighter and resident of Duaripara of Pallabi, filed a case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court, accusing Nizami, Mojahid and eight others of the massacre.
After hearing, Magistrate Imran Hossain Chowdhury asked the officer-in-charge (OC) of Pallabi Police Station to register the case and submit a report in this connection after investigation.
The officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station told UNB that the case was registered following the court order (Case No 60). Sub-inspector Hamidur Rahman has been made investigation officer of the case.
According to the first information report (FIR), Amir Hossain Mollah alleged that Jamaat leaders Motiur Rahman Nizami, Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojahid, Quader Mollah, Quamruzzaman and six others had killed 100-150 people at Alabdigram behind the Botanical Garden on April 4, 1971.
Six other accused are former general secretary of Islami Chhatra Sangha Mir Abul Kashem, former president of Islami Chhatra Sangha Sarder Abdus Salam, late Khwaja Wasimuddin and three non-Bengalees –Akhter Goonda, Newaj and Doma -who later fled to Pakistan.
