Body of a young woman, severed into nine pieces, was recovered at Sutrapur in the capital yesterday, a day after similar recovery of the body of a brutally murdered young woman from Tejgaon area.

Besides, a man was found butchered at Adabar in the city.

Identity of the victims could not be ascertained till the filing of this report at 9:00pm yesterday.

Informed by the locals, police recovered the body pieces of the young woman, aged around 22, in three bags from Hemendra Das Road and Protap Das Road in Sutrapur around 7:00 in the morning, said Sutrapur police.

The head and the arms were chopped off the body of the victim while the legs were cut into four pieces and the remainder of the body into two, the police added.

The recovered body pieces were sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College (SMC) morgue for an autopsy.

The victim might have been slain several hours before the police made the discovery, said sources at the SMC morgue.

Meanwhile in Adabar, police discovered the body of the man, approximately 35 years of age, from an empty plot in Sunibir Housing Project at around 8:00am.

The victim’s throat was slit and he had a black shirt and a lungi on.

Separate cases were filed with the police stations concerned.

Earlier on Friday, police found murdered body of another unidentified young woman in an abandoned mango basket at Satrasta truck stand in Tejgaon Industrial Area in the city.
