Download PDF The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations 2008 held under the seven education boards, the Alim exams under the Madrasa Education Board and Business Management exams under the Technical Education Board will be published simultaneously today.
The results of the Diploma in Business Studies and Diploma in Commerce under Dhaka Education Board will also be published.
Students have been asked to collect results from their respective educational institutions from 2:00pm onwards. No results will be made available at the education boards, education ministry or newspaper offices, an education ministry handout said.
This year, one can obtain their results using the short message service (SMS) from their mobile phone sets. An agreement has been signed between TeleTalk, education boards, computer centres and the Technical Education Board in this regard. Subscribers of GrameenPhone, Banglalink, Aktel, CityCell, Warid and TeleTalk mobile networks can also use this service.
To use it, subscribers are asked to type the first three letters of the respective board (like Dhaka=DHA), leave a space and then type the roll number and then send the SMS to 4636 or 2323 from their mobile phones.
The examinees of HSC Business Management, Diploma in Commerce and HSC vocational under the Technical Education Board have to type HBM, DIC and VOC respectively in place of the board and send the SMS to the same numbers, 4636 or 2323.
Examinees who have sat for HSC exams from Dubai should send an SMS to 2254 while examinees from UK must type the first three letters of their respective board and EBS and then send the SMS to 87080.
The HSC Exams — the second largest public examination of the country — began on May 29 and ended on July 10.
About 6.20 lakh examinees took the exams, including 5 lakh for HSC.
The exams were held at 1800 centres, including five abroad, under the seven educational boards — Dhaka, Rajshahi, Comilla, Jessore, Chittagong, Barisal and Sylhet — one Madrasa and one Technical education board.
